Black, gunmetal, copper or gold towel radiator: which finish?
In short
- Our range has 13 black hydronic towel radiators, 9 in brushed matt black, and 2 models in gunmetal, brushed copper and brushed gold: 1200 x 600 mm (414 W, €179.08) and 1600 x 600 mm (557 W, €233.37).
- For the same model and output, black costs 3 to 6% more than white, up to 20% on one size. In these pairs, the colour does not change the stated output.
- Design thermostatic valves come in the three metal shades, bronze grey, brushed gold and brushed copper, at €53.18 each. Prices incl. VAT recorded on 06/10/2026.
A black, gunmetal, copper or gold towel radiator is first chosen to suit the bathroom. But the finishes do not all offer the same choice of sizes, outputs and prices. This guide goes through the towel radiators in our range finish by finish, with the matching parts.

Which towel radiator finishes do we stock?
Seven finishes, five of them coloured. The table counts the hydronic towel radiators in each collection. Outputs and sizes are those given in the product titles.
| Finish | Models | Size (H x W) | Output | Price incl. VAT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Black | 13 | 1,100 to 1,800 x 500 to 600 mm | 540 to 1,081 W | €56.95 to €266.64 |
| Brushed matt black | 9 | 1,100 to 1,800 x 400 to 600 mm | 458 to 944 W | €65.49 to €129.66 |
| Gunmetal (bronze grey) | 2 | 1200 x 600 · 1600 x 600 mm | 414 and 557 W | €179.08 and €233.37 |
| Brushed copper | 2 | 1200 x 600 · 1600 x 600 mm | 414 and 557 W | €179.08 and €233.37 |
| Brushed gold | 2 | 1200 x 600 · 1600 x 600 mm | 414 and 557 W | €179.08 and €233.37 |
| Chrome | 9 | 950 to 1,800 x 500 to 600 mm | 335 to 620 W | €55.32 to €195.15 |
| White and matt white (reference) | 30 | 800 to 1,800 x 400 to 600 mm | 352 to 1,402 W | €56.64 to €251.47 |
The choice is very uneven. Black and brushed matt black cover almost every size, from 1,100 to 1,800 mm high. The three metal shades come in two sizes only, both 600 mm wide. Three chrome product titles do not state their output, so we do not quote it.
Black or brushed matt black: what is the difference?
Two separate ranges. The black towel radiator collection has 13 Belrad models, with central or left/combined connection, from 540 to 1,081 W. It includes the most powerful ones, such as the 1800 x 600 mm at 1,081 W for €210.62.
The brushed matt black collection has 9 centrally connected models, from 458 to 944 W, from €65.49 to €129.66. It is cheaper at the same size but gives less heat: in 1800 x 600 mm, 944 W against 1,081 W for the centrally connected black model.

How much more does black cost than white?
Usually 3 to 6% more, for the same model, size and output. These are the comparisons our range allows:
| Range | Size (H x W) | Output | White | Black | Extra cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Left/combined connection, black | 1200 x 500 mm | 593 W | €160.17 | €169.81 | +6% |
| Left/combined connection, black | 1800 x 600 mm | 1,021 W | €251.47 | €266.64 | +6% |
| Central connection, black | 1600 x 600 mm | 908 W | €170.69 | €180.85 | +6% |
| Central connection, black | 1800 x 600 mm | 1,081 W | €198.79 | €210.62 | +6% |
| Brushed matt black against brushed matt white | 1200 x 600 mm | 616 W | €86.48 | €88.79 | +3% |
| Brushed matt black against brushed matt white | 1600 x 600 mm | 828 W | €98.55 | €117.79 | +20% |
| Brushed matt black against brushed matt white | 1800 x 600 mm | 944 W | €126.29 | €129.66 | +3% |
The only large gap is brushed matt black in 1600 x 600 mm: €117.79 against €98.55 in brushed matt white, 20% more. On the other sizes of that range, the gap stays at 3%. Output is the same in every pair: the finish does not change it on these product pages.
Gunmetal, brushed copper, brushed gold: which models?
Two sizes, the same in all three shades. The same centrally connected towel radiator comes in gunmetal (called bronze grey on the product page), brushed copper and brushed gold:
- 1200 x 600 mm, 414 W: €179.08, for example in gunmetal or brushed copper.
- 1600 x 600 mm, 557 W: €233.37, for example in brushed gold.

These three shades have no white version of the same model, so the exact extra cost cannot be measured. As a guide, at the same size (1200 x 600 mm), our white centrally connected towel radiator gives 616 W for €72.00. The metal model costs more than twice as much and gives less heat. It is an aesthetic choice: check that 414 or 557 W is enough for your bathroom.
And for electric models, what does a colour add?
3 to 40%, depending on the shade. The Belrad Rod electric bar towel rail, 150 cm high, is the only model offered in all five shades. It shows the extra cost for exactly the same model:
| Finish | Single, 60 W | Double, 120 W |
|---|---|---|
| Gloss white | €123.42 | €196.02 |
| Matt black | €129.23 (+5%) | €201.83 (+3%) |
| Gunmetal, brushed gold, brushed copper | €158.27 (+28%) | €274.43 (+40%) |
Matt black adds 3 to 5%. The metal shades add 28% for the single and 40% for the double.
Which parts match each finish?
Valves and connection kits come in black, chrome and the three metal shades. These are the ones in our range:

| Towel radiator mounting kit, 4 pieces | Matt black | €7.82 |
| Towel radiator mounting kit, 4 pieces | Chrome | €9.47 |

The black central connection kit costs €44.44, against €35.53 in white or chrome. To choose and set a valve, read our guide on thermostatic radiator valves.
